About
This is my fifth year teaching English Language Arts at Triangle Math and Science Academy. I am also an adviser of National Junior Honor Society.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hope College in Holland, Michigan with a degree in English and a minor in Spanish. While in college, I tutored, volunteered with at-risk youth, wrote several articles for the newspaper, and studied abroad (in Santiago de Compostela, Spain). My appreciation for language grew in college as I saw the extent to which we can use words to make a difference in the lives of others.
I am not a Raleigh native! I grew up in a northern suburb of Chicago. My husband and I recently moved to Holly Springs. When I’m not at TMSA, I enjoy hiking and spending time outdoors, volunteering at church, reading, baking, doing crafts, and spending time with friends and family.
